Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: How Much Does Tutoring Cost?
Our personalised, in-home, one-on-one tutoring in Adelaide starts from $80 per hour for all school subjects and year levels. Our specialised IGNITE Exam Preparation and selective-entry coaching starts at $100 per hour, taught exclusively by our founder and IGNITE Specialist, Bren Casipit. We also offer a comprehensive IGNITE Online Preparation Program for $4,000 (payment plans available).
Every family begins with a free 15-minute assessment call, where we discuss your child's goals and recommend the most suitable tutoring plan.
Q: What Is The IGNITE Program, and When Is The Exam?
The IGNITE Program is South Australia's gifted and talented education pathway offered at Glenunga International High School, The Heights School, and Aberfoyle Park High School. Students gain entry by sitting the ACER IGNITE assessment, typically held in late February during Year 6.
Most families begin IGNITE exam preparation between 6 and 12 months before the assessment, allowing enough time to build advanced maths, English, verbal reasoning and abstract reasoning skills.

Q: Where Do Tutoring Lessons Take Place?
We provide in-home tutoring across Adelaide, allowing students to learn in a familiar and comfortable environment. Lessons can also be held at a local library or delivered online if preferred.
We work with families throughout metropolitan Adelaide and surrounding suburbs.
Q: Why Choose Private IGNITE Tutoring?
Private IGNITE Tutoring combines personalised learning with experienced, high-achieving tutors. Every student's session is designed around their goals, confidence and academic needs.
Unlike larger tutoring centres, our lessons are delivered one-on-one, allowing tutors to focus entirely on your child's progress.
For students preparing for the IGNITE Program, all specialised coaching is delivered exclusively by Bren Casipit, a Glenunga International High School graduate (97.35 ATAR) with more than four years of tutoring experience who has helped prepare 20+ students for selective entry and IGNITE tests.
Q: Who Are Your Tutors?
Our tutoring team consists of carefully selected university students and graduates who achieved ATARs of 90+ and have demonstrated both strong academic ability and excellent communication skills. Every tutor is personally vetted and delivers engaging, supportive and personalised one-on-one tutoring.
Q: How Do You Match Students With Tutors?
Every student is individually matched based on:
-
Year level
-
Subjects
-
Learning style
-
Academic goals
-
Personality
-
Tutor availability
This personalised matching process helps students build confidence while getting the most from every tutoring session.
Q: How Do I Know If My Child Is Improving?
Following every lesson, parents receive a verbal progress update outlining:
-
Topics covered
-
Areas of improvement
-
Skills requiring further practice
-
Homework or recommended revision
This ensures parents stay informed and can clearly track their child's academic progress over time.
Q: How Long Does It Take To See Results?
Many students begin showing noticeable improvements in confidence, understanding and school performance within 4–8 weeks of consistent weekly tutoring.
For IGNITE Exam Preparation, we generally recommend beginning at least two school terms before the assessment, with three terms or longer providing the strongest preparation.
Q: Do You Offer Tutoring For School Exams Only?
While many families choose ongoing weekly tutoring, we also offer short-term exam preparation for school assessments, SACE exams and end-of-year exams. Intensive sessions, including extended two-hour lessons, are available for students needing focused revision.
