Maths Tutoring in Adelaide for Years 1–12
Maths is the subject where small gaps compound fastest. A student who never quite got place value in Year 4 will struggle with decimals in Year 6, ratios in Year 8 and algebraic fractions in Year 10- and by then the problem looks like "I'm bad at maths" rather than one missing idea from six years ago.
Our job is to find that idea and fix it.
For $80 per hour, we tutor maths one-on-one across every year level from Reception to Year 12, in person across Adelaide or online.
What We Cover By Year Level:
Years 1–6:
Primary Maths
Number and place value, the four operations, times tables to automaticity, fractions and decimals, measurement, basic geometry and early problem solving.
At this level most of the work is building fluency so that the mechanics stop consuming the student's attention.
Years 7–10:
Middle School Maths
Algebra, linear and quadratic relationships, indices, Pythagoras and trigonometry, surface area and volume, statistics and probability.
This is where students most often first fall behind, because the subject shifts from arithmetic to abstraction. It is also where the right intervention pays off most.
Years 11–12:
SACE
Essential Mathematics, General Mathematics, Mathematical Methods and Specialist Mathematics.
Support with topic content, assessment tasks, the folio and investigation requirements, and structured exam preparation.
How Math Sessions Work
Every student starts with a diagnostic conversation and some work on paper, so the tutor can see where the reasoning actually breaks down rather than guessing from a report card.
From there, sessions follow the student's own school programme- we are not running a parallel curriculum.
We work through upcoming topics before they are taught where that helps, review assessments afterwards to convert mistakes into understanding, and set short practice tasks between sessions.
Who Teaches Maths
Maths tutoring is delivered by our team of tutors, each of whom has graduated with a minimum ATAR of 90 and hold valid Working with Children and National Police Clearance checks. Tutors are matched to students by year level and by the kind of support needed- a Year 3 student building confidence and a Year 12 student preparing for Methods exams need very different people.
Our founder, Bren Casipit, completed Year 12 Mathematical Methods to an A+ standard at Glenunga International High School and personally handles all IGNITE and selective entry preparation.
