Science Tutoring in Adelaide for Years 1–12
Science becomes difficult when students are expected to connect several kinds of thinking at once. They need to understand the theory, interpret evidence, apply formulas and explain their reasoning clearly. If one of those skills is missing, memorising more facts rarely solves the problem. Our tutors identify where understanding breaks down and rebuild it step by step.
For $80 per hour, we provide one-on-one science tutoring across Adelaide and online, from primary science through to SACE Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
What We Cover By Year Level:

Years 1–6:
Primary Science
Living things, habitats, materials, forces, energy, Earth and space, and basic scientific investigation skills. At this level, the focus is on developing curiosity, building scientific vocabulary and helping students explain what they observe using evidence

Years 7–10:
Middle School Science
Biology, chemistry, physics and Earth and space sciences, including cells and body systems, ecosystems, atoms and chemical reactions, forces and motion, energy, electricity and genetics. We also develop practical investigation skills, data interpretation and scientific report writing.

Years 11–12:
SACE Science
Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Support includes course content, calculations, practical investigations, science inquiry skills tasks, data analysis, assessment preparation and exam technique. Tutors help students understand how concepts connect rather than relying on memorised answers.
How Science Sessions Work
We begin by looking at the student’s current topic, recent assessments and any teacher feedback. This helps the tutor determine whether the main difficulty is conceptual understanding, mathematics, scientific vocabulary, practical investigation skills or written communication.
The tutor then explains the underlying concept using diagrams, examples and guided questions before moving into practice. Students first work through problems with support and then attempt similar questions independently. Where appropriate, sessions also include assessment planning, practical report feedback and revision using exam-style questions.
Our tutoring follows the student’s school programme so that each session supports what they are currently learning and prepares them for upcoming assessments.
Who Teaches Science
Science tutoring is delivered by our team of tutors, each of whom has graduated with a minimum ATAR of 90 and holds valid Working with Children and National Police Clearance checks. Tutors are matched according to the student’s year level, subject and particular areas of difficulty.
For senior students, we match tutors by discipline so that Biology, Chemistry and Physics are taught by someone with strong subject knowledge and experience with the relevant SACE requirements.
Our founder, Bren Casipit, completed Year 12 Chemistry and Biology to an A standard at Glenunga International High School.
